A film director on one side, a campaign builder on the other.
On the film director side, in 2022 I studied directing fiction at the National Film and Television School, taking to it so much it has spurred me on to committing full time to film & directing.
However, on the campaign side and a background in strategy, design, and content capture, I understand how important it is for the strategic and creative sides of a campaign to work with, not against, each other. I have an eye for visual design, coupled with a strong instinct for what an audience wants and how to reach them.
— How it all happened
I have both a top class politics degree from the University of Bath and a graphic design qualification from Shillington College. Not the most obvious combination! But it is the perfect mix, engaging the strategic, data-driven left-side of my brain, as well as the more creative right-side.
My studies led to work placements with AKA, a theatre marketing agency, and Digitas LBi, a digital advertising agency. After graduating, I worked with the fantastic team at Be-Hookd Digital, first as a junior designer, before moving into creative direction in the digital strategy and ideation team.
In 2022, I applied for a Directors’ course at the NFTS. I had an inkling that I would take to film directing, but I had no idea of the scale. A year on, I have now directed and produced 2 short films, a handful of music videos and multiple commercials.
